If you are selling a home in the LCWD, the owner, real estate broker, or attorney needs to arrange for a Final Bill to be used at the closing. Two or three weeks prior to the closing date schedule a Final Reading Appointment with LCWD by calling 781-334-3901. When you call we will set a date and time for the reading for LCWD operators to enter the home and upgrade the equipment. The fee for reading the meter and processing the final bill is $125.
During your Final Reading Appointment a technician will electronically or physically read the water meter. If the meter is not equipped with an outside or radio reader one may be added. Depending upon the age of the meter and water usage the technician may also replace the meter. The Final Reading Appointment typically lasts about a half hour.
The Final Bill will be generated using the meter reading and usage to date, and includes the $125 processing fee and any past due amount. The Water District account needs to be settled by the owner, broker, or attorney prior to the close and they will receive a “receipted” bill for the closing.
