Be advised that on Thursday, September 16, 2021, the Lynnfield Center Water District will be starting work to rehabilitate its existing water storage tank on Wing Road. Work will include draining the tank, washing and repairing the interior of the tank as necessary; some on site distribution system sampling improvements, cleaning of the exterior of the tank and then returning the tank back into regular operations.
We are very excited to be completing this work in order to address some concerns that were identified during a recent inspection. LCWD has contracted with Worldwide Corp to perform this work. They are a very reputable firm that performs work of this nature throughout the east coast of the country. We have listed their references on our website for your review. A team of project engineers, construction inspectors and our regular crew will be monitoring operations at all times throughout the work. Work is anticipated to take place from Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. On occasion, work may take place on Saturday to accommodate scheduling so that the tank can be returned to service as soon as possible. In those instances, work will not start until 8:00 a.m.
The first phase of the project will involve draining the tank. Water will be dechlorinated and discharged into the Town stormwater system. Details involving this phase and all phases of the project have been carefully reviewed with the Lynnfield Public Works Department and both Lynnfield Fire and Police Departments. We expect this to start tomorrow and continue into the weekend.
We look forward to efficiently completing this work. Please feel free to contact us by email at LCWD@LCWD.US or at 781.334.3901 with any questions or concerns.
